Hans-Lietzmann-Lectures in Berlin

In Rememberance to Hans Lietzmann (1875–1942) the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the department of theology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin organize the annually occurring Hans-Lietzmann-Lecture as part o the project "Alexandrinische und antiochenische Bibelexegese". It is grounded in the tradition of "Die Griechischen christlichen Schriftsteller", which was led by Lietzmann as the successor of Adolf von Harnacks war. To each of theses letures an internationally renowned scientist of the classical studies and ancient history is invited. Major topics are religious history and its meaning for and relation to modernism. The edition is published by De Gruyter (years of publishing in brackets).
